What to Expect
A Kind Welcome
Every session begins with a relaxed greeting to ensure you and your child feel comfortable and ready to learn.
Your Musical Goals
I will work with the student and the family to combine the students interests with achievable goals to get the most out of lessons.
Core Fundamentals
Every student, regardless of level, will work on important musical skills which will provide a foundation for any musical endeavor. Musical skills covered are Note naming / rhythm / Scales / Basic Music theory and sight-reading.Â
Fun Activities & Play
Musical skills will be introduced in a positive manner. Duets for sightreading, flashcards, games and whiteboards will be used for basic music theory.

Setting Up for Success
What to Bring
Remember to bring your instrument, any previous music books you might have, and a notebook (binder is preferred for piano students). If you're a flute student, don't forget your cleaning cloth.
Arrival Time
Please aim to arrive at least 5 minutes early. I have a waiting area with chairs and a place for coats/shoes.
Space at Home
Set up a quiet, well-lit area at home for practicing. Try and keep the practice area away from distractions when possible. Please keep the flute in its case when no in use to avoid any repairs.

Parental Support
Encouragement is key! Please help the student find a routine for practice so it never feels squeezed in. (15 minutes after school/ before school/ after dinner)
